White Repertoire against French Defense

In last post we saw beginner repertoire against sicilian. Now we look at another popular Black reply to White's 1.e4 i.e. 1...e6 The French Defense.

Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan in his book "Winning chess openings" has proposed Barcza opening 1.Nf3 2.g3 3.Bg2 4.0-0 ,which was his favorite opening during childhood. Here white gives up fight for center at very beginning stage of game and plays Barcza opening irrespective of what Black is doing. This way white ensure king safety without getting into too much of variations of King pawn or Queen pawn opening.
However if one want to fight for center with 1.e4 as well as want to ensure quick king safety then he/she can do so using King's Indian Attack setup. This KIA setup is most effective against French defense.
